Are you a talented Engineer driven by the challenges of building scripts? At Coosto, we are looking for a Web Crawling Engineer to help us collect data that assists our clients in gaining valuable insights from the world of social media and online data.

What you will do

As a Web Crawling Engineer, you will be involved in designing and programming scripts to support our data intake and data extraction software. You play a crucial role at Coosto in maintaining the scripts that help our clients extract valuable information from the vast amounts of data collected through our platform.

‍

These scripts range from simple configurations to more complex software. You will work in a team with various technical specialists and operate to a large extent independently, being accountable to the Software Development Manager.

Your main tasks include:

• Programming and maintaining web crawlers.
• Data extraction.
• Reviewing data in the Coosto tool.
• Creating complete web scraping solutions.
• Contributing to process optimization.
• Collaborating with Customer Support.

Who you are

You are a driven and passionate Engineer with an investigative attitude. You are capable of working independently but also enjoy collaborating with your team.

‍

Additionally:

‍

• You have a HBO-level of thinking and a minimum of two years of relevant experience
• You have knowledge and experience with Python and Linux
• You have knowledge of how HTTP works
• You have knowledge of HTML and JSON parsing
• You have excellent communication skills in English
• You are available for 32-40 hours per week
• You are willing to work hybridly (meaning at least 2 days at our office in Eindhoven)
• Knowledge of XPath and/or RegEx is a plus
