It's all based on the online behaviour of your audience and when they comment on posts, photos and videos. But without a tool it takes time, a lot of time to discover what is your ideal time for engagement. It takes hours and hours to analyse all your data.  And once you know what time works best for you, the circumstances (algorithm, audience, platforms) have probably changed and your insights are worthless.

What is the best time to post on Facebook?


Our research shows most people are engaging on Facebook around 7PM. However, they could be engaging with posts that were published much earlier or later than that. What is the actual ideal moment to publish a post? To answer this question, we researched another 100.000 Facebook company page posts, and checked when they were posted and how much engagement they got. Our findings? The early afternoon is a smart choice to post on Facebook The best time to post on Facebook is 1PM.

What is the best time to post on Twitter?


Most engagement on Twitter takes place in the evening, peaking at 10PM. But when should you publish a post to make full use of this peak? We researched an additional 100.000 tweets to discover when to post to get the most Engagement on Twitter, and found out that 8PM is the absolute sweet spot.

What is the best time to post on Instagram?


Our analysis of The Gram provides us with an image very similar to Twitter’s and Facebook’s: evening hours are booming with engagement. That doesn’t necessarily mean you should publish your posts at that exact time. After all, your post may be shown many hours after being published. That is why we looked into the engagement of another 100.000 Instagram posts and the time they were posted, to determine what is the actual best time to post. We found that 10AM and 10PM are the best times to post on Instagram.

What is the best time to post on YouTube?


At this time, Wednesday 5PM is rush hour on YouTube: this is when most comments are written on the social video platform. Social media behaviour can change, and we want to make sure you can keep relying on us when it comes to the best time to upload your videos. That is why we also made a live YouTube heatmap, which automatically updates and shows you when most comments on YouTube videos were published during the last month. 

What is the best time to post on LinkedIn?


LinkedIn appears to be anything but an office-hours-only platform. In previous research, we saw that LinkedIn posts are often published between 9AM and 5PM, but people are particularly engaging with posts in the evening. We’re seeing a peak in the morning around 10AM, and an even bigger spike at 7PM and 8PM. When it comes to days, we would discourage posting on Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays.
